JOB DESCRIPTION: Charity Workers / Youth and Community Workers (Voluntary Role)
JOB OVERVIEW
City of Praise International Ministries is a dynamic and growing Pentecostal church based in Bellingham, UK. We are seeking passionate and committed individuals to serve as Charity Workers with a focus on Youth and Community Engagement.
This voluntary position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting faith-based youth programs and community initiatives. While the role is unpaid, the church will provide for basic living costs and maintenance. The position requires a commitment of 30 hours per week, including weekend work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the planning, organization, and delivery of youth-focused events and activities.
• Assist with preparing educational materials, such as lesson plans and activity guides.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment during youth activities.
• Support the setup and cleanup of events, workshops, and community gatherings.
• Encourage active participation from youth and community members.
• Collaborate with church leaders and volunteers to promote holistic youth development.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Initiative, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude.
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
• Good negotiating and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• A heart for ministry and a servant-leadership mindset.
• Strong command of English (spoken and written); knowledge of an additional language is an asset.
• Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse communities.
• Experience in youth ministry, evangelism, or church-based outreach is highly desirable. (Pentecostal background preferred.)
