Summary
Job title: Self-Employed Personal Assistant (PA)
Reporting to: The Employer
Location: Evesham, Worcestershire
Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable the employer who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
About the employer:
Our client is a resilient individual with a rich and varied life history. Born in Bromsgrove and raised in Inkberrow, our client has faced numerous challenges, including managing his health conditions and navigating complex personal relationships.
Our client has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, scoliosis, obesity, arthritis in his left arm, and reduced mobility.
Our client is a vulnerable adult, particularly at risk of financial abuse, and requires a compassionate and dedicated self-employed PA to support him in his daily life.
Main duties:
1. Managing Nutrition:
• Support our client in choosing healthy foods to manage his type-2 diabetes.
• Encourage and assist our client in cooking healthy meals.
• Promote a balanced diet while respecting our client's enjoyment of food.
2. Making Use of Community Services:
• Motivate and encourage our client to participate in community activities.
• Identify and facilitate engagement with local groups and services.
3. Maintaining a Habitable Environment:
• Ensure our client's living space remains neat and tidy.
• Coordinate with the cleaner to maintain a clean and organized home.
These duties may vary from day-to-day.

• Specific requirements:
• Excellent Communication Skills: Our client enjoys conversing with his carers, so strong communication skills are essential. Fluency in English is required, as our client has requested a PA whose first language is English.
• Empathy and Patience: Understanding and patience are crucial in supporting our client’s mental and physical health needs.
• Motivational Skills: Ability to encourage and motivate our client to engage in healthy activities and community services.
• Organizational Skills: Help our client maintain a structured and organized living environment.
Hours of work: 6 hours per week – 3 hours Wednesday & Friday
Rate of pay: £15 per hour
Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
Driving licence
Car and appropriate insurance
Previous experience in a support worker role
Confidentiality
Good at building relationships
Good communicator
Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.
This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
