Description
The Principal Planning Policy Officer (Gr J) is a pivotal role within our dynamic planning team, responsible for shaping and implementing strategic planning policies that drive sustainable development and enhance community well-being. Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of strategic planning policies.
Conduct detailed research and analysis on planning issues and housing needs.
Collaborate with local authorities, stakeholders, and community groups to gather input on planning initiatives.
Advise senior management on best practices and legal compliance in planning policy.
Prepare and present reports, proposals, and policy recommendations to committees and stakeholders.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of existing policies and recommend improvements.
Engage in public consultations and represent the planning department at meetings and forums.
Requirements
A degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field.
Significant experience in planning policy development and implementation.
In-depth knowledge of current planning legislation and regulations.
Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Experience in community consultation and public engagement processes.
