Summary
Autism Specialist Teacher - September Start - Temp to Perm or Permanent Opportunity
Location: West London | Salary: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS)
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-resourced and inclusive school in West London seeking a qualified Autism Specialist Teacher to join their team from September. This role is available as either a permanent position or a temp-to-perm opportunity, depending on your preference.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and experienced teacher who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You'll be working in a nurturing environment with strong leadership and a collaborative SEN team.
Candidate profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience teaching SEN children, particularly children with severe learning difficulties and autism.
- Experience working with EQUALS curriculum would be beneficial.
- Experience with non-linear developmental assessment frameworks (e.g. Routes for Learning, SCERTS) would be beneficial.
- Passion for working with SEN children.
Key Requirements:
- QTS or PGCE (essential)
- DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply for one
- Experience working and Teaching SEN children, particularly children with severe learning difficulties and Autism
- Experience working with EQUALS curriculum would be beneficial
- Experience with non-linear development assesment frameworks (e.g. Routes for Learning, SCERTS) would be beneficial.
- DBS on Update Service or willing to apply for background checks
- Proven experience supporting children with Autism
- Strong Understanding of SEN Stratgeries and fifferentiated teaching
- A patient, empathetic approach to behaviour and learning support
