Summary

Finance Officer needed in Lambeth, £19.92ph PAYE - Reference: RQ1518525

Job Purpose

Work collaboratively with all colleagues, social workers, payment assurance officers and managers and exchequers services to ensure prompt appropriate resource and care packages setups, identifying payment issue, account reconciliation and payment remedy for In-house Foster Carers, Connected Carers, and all others Post Order means tested payments, Direct Payments and Home Care Support Payments for Children with Disability.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for In-house Fostering payment set ups and processing in compliance with Fostering Services Regulations 2011
2. Responsible for Temporary Approve Carers (Reg 24) payment setups and processing in compliance with care Planning and Placement Review regulations 2010 & NMS Standard 30
3. Responsible for Post Order (Special Guardianship, Child Arrangement Order, Adoption) payments and all other means-testing, payment set ups, processing, validating and annual reviews in compliance SGO Regulations 2005/2016 and Adoption Regulations 2005
4. Maintain financial systems data integrity, supporting the design of effective quality financial control.
5. Undertake benchmarking activities including collection and manipulation of data sets.
6. Participate and contribute to projects as required, enabling managers to meet their financial and budgetary responsibilities by providing effective financial support and monitoring.
7. Develop and maintain financial systems data integrity, supporting the design of effective quality financial control.
8. Maintain IT systems, including local and corporate IT systems, spreadsheets, databases to be able to produce appropriate outputs, e.g. reports.
9. Update IT systems to ensure that individual records are up to date with information required for statutory returns and local datasets, ensuring the data is up to date, accurate and reliable.
10. To work flexibly across the service, working on a range of activity to provide proactive support to service users.
11. Provide comprehensive business support service as required, duties may include; mailbox management, finance processing, inputting, storing and archiving of data, meeting arrangements, caseload management and note taking.
12. Embrace new technology to support service users, to ensure that the level of support offered is flexible and in line with Lambeth’s ways of working.
13. To work methodically to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
14. Use innovative and imaginative thinking to improve service delivery.
15. In an emergency situation, work can be amended from Business As Usual (BAU) to assisting with the situation that has arisen.
16. Undertake other duties appropriate to the post that may reasonably be required from time to time.
17. Ensuring that information is collated, recorded, and tracked for each child in care or care experienced young person.
18. Work within determined targets and be accountable for individual and project performance.
19. To take personal responsibility for the good use of the resources appropriate to the job level and work area.
20. To ensure that all actions comply with the policies on diversity and equal opportunities and health and safety.
21. To undertake other duties which might be reasonably requested from time to time.

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
