Summary

Salary: SP9 £24,319– SP13 £26,012 per annum (dependent on experience & qualifications)
Permanent subject to funding
KEY TERMS & CONDITIONS
• 25 days holiday & bank holidays and 8% non-contributory pension

PURPOSE OF JOB
SOAR Community are seeking to recruit an experienced Welfare Coach. Working as part of the
Homewards Sheffield Innovative Housing Project (IHP), aimed at preventing homelessness and
providing wrap around support for families living in north east/east Sheffield.
The role will:
• Provide tailored emotional and practical support to help individuals navigate various housing
processes and maintain tenancies
• Co-ordinate, simplify and broker access to a range of housing, health, employment, education
and social support based on the needs and wishes of the individual
• Provide support around applying for housing related benefits i.e. Housing benefit, council tax
support, discretionary housing payment, household support fund
• Co-produce a personalised support plan that encourages the empowerment of an individual to
take control of their own household needs and therefore maintain a tenancy
• Empower the individual to express their views, wishes and concerns in their dealings with
landlords
• Connect individuals to local and city-wide services
• Contribute to learning and evaluation the IHP project.
Full-time: 37 hours per week
