The work involves R&D, process selection and design projects on the development and commercial implementation of advanced industrial effluent treatment technologies.
The post provides the opportunity to work on projects from R&D and feasibility studies through to the design and commissioning of commercial process plants.
Role:
Maintenance of records and preparation of reports
Preparation of proposals
Preparation of full-scale process and plant designs
Laboratory management and H&S
Operation and maintenance of test rigs and pilot plants for industrial effluent treatment
Chemical analyses
Operation of commercial scale plants for demonstration trials
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of the first degree in a relevant engineering or scientific subject (e.g. chemical engineering, physical chemistry)
Experience in the operation of pilot or full scale chemical process plants, preferably for industrial effluent treatment and high-pressure/temperature plants.
Good project management
Good written and verbal communications skills
Appropriate IT and computing skills, preferably with a familiarity with process and plant design software (e.g. thermodynamic modelling, heat transfer, CFD).
Presentations to clients, conferences etc.
Preferably knowledge of or experience in upstream and downstream oil and gas processes
Preferably experience with commercial contracts
Place of work: The usual place of work will be Milton Keynes, but UK travel for meetings will be required and occasional work periods abroad for meetings and demonstration plant operations.
Usual working hours: 8 hours per day (flexible), occasional out-of hours working may be required depending on project requirements.
Training will be provided on the operation of the test rig and plant facilities.
