Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Class 3 Qualified Senior Building Control Surveyor (Band 3) to join our dynamic team at MID. As a Senior Surveyor, you will play an integral role in collaborating with architects, builders, and developers to deliver innovative and compliant building solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, enabling them to navigate complex building regulations while providing clear guidance and support to clients. You will be responsible for conducting detailed plan assessments, site inspections, and engagement with stakeholders at all levels. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough plan examinations for building projects to ensure compliance with building regulations and standards.
Perform regular site inspections to assess ongoing projects and identify potential compliance issues.
Provide expert advice to clients, architects, and contractors on building control matters and regulations.
Prepare and present reports on inspections, findings, and recommendations for compliance.
Mentor and train junior surveyors and support staff, fostering their professional development.
Engage with stakeholders, including local authorities and community members, to address concerns and provide information.
Stay updated on changes in legislation, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure informed decision-making.
Requirements
Hold a valid Class 3 qualification in Building Control as recognized by the relevant governing body.
Significant experience in building control surveying, including plan checking and site inspection.
Strong knowledge of building regulations, planning law, and associated legislation.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently under minimal supervision.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
Proficient in the use of relevant software and tools for building control functions.
