Temporary Building Control Surveyor

Driving Licence
Skills & Experience:
Relevant professional qualification (e.g. Degree or Diploma in Building Control, Construction, Surveying, or related discipline)
Good knowledge of CAD software
Good knowledge of technical building regulations and British Standards
5+ years experience
Experience in producing building specifications with NBS
Experience in administration of JCT contracts
Experience surveys/pre-purchase reports
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to a range of audiences
Desirable:
RICS qualification - preferred
Knowledge in party wall
What's involved with this role: As part of a small team of building surveyors, you will be responsible for delivering projects throughout all RIBA Stages. Working closely with clients to identify their needs and put together design proposals for a wide range of facilities including leisure centres, residential buildings, cemeteries, day centres, libraries, care homes, family hubs, historical monuments.
Key duties:
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with Building Regulations, including safety, structural integrity, and energy efficiency.
Assess and determine a variety of building control applications such as Full Plans, Building Notices, and Regularisations.
Provide clear technical guidance to developers, contractors, and property owners on regulatory requirements.
Manage responses to dangerous structures and demolition notifications, ensuring public safety.
Support statutory functions including safety certification for public venues and street naming and numbering processes.
