Summary
The applicant will be responsible for:
The management of department MT Assurance activity and for undertaking delegated Motor Transport Intelligent Customer functions within their area of responsibility. The position is also the nominated “Quality” Point of Contact for HMNB Devonport MOD Logistics department.
Supporting the Logistics (MT) Service Delivery Manager with defining and monitoring performance of Transport Services delivered by the Naval Bases Contracted service provider under the Naval Base's enabling contracts.
Managing and reporting on the use and compliance of MT against relevant legislative, regulatory and policy requirements across all stakeholders and users of White Fleet vehicles within our area of responsibility. This includes the challenge of policy and working with the ‘Logistics (Motor Transport) Intelligent Customer’, formulating and facilitating responses received via the Naval Base Customer Satisfaction Officer
Monitoring and supporting the Naval Base logistic departments Quality Assurance outputs and responsibilities aligned to the Naval Base Quality Management Systems.
Completing internal and level one Motor Transport assurance activity across our areas of responsibility. This function includes the formulation, monitoring, delivery, and appropriate closure of remedial action plans.
Setting and communicating the requirement and priorities for transport in the Naval Base ensuring operational priorities are delivered following consultation with the Motor Transport Service Delivery Manager and Intelligent Customer.
Supporting the MT Service Delivery Manager in communicating, monitoring, measuring, and assessing whether the deliverables and activities of the industry provider meet the requirements of the contract. Where they do not, you will be required to challenge the quality of service being delivered and where concerns are found you will escalate the findings and educated recommendations to an appropriate level.
Understanding and interpreting compliance and policy documents, to provide written direction enabling the industry provider to deliver outputs in line with defence requirements.
Manage the review process assisting in the compilation and gathering of evidence to support permanently assigned assets to end users.
Building collaborative professional relationships across the Navy diaspora to support internal MOD activity and with industry partner staff to support safe, secure, and efficient delivery of transport outputs within the Future Maritime Support Contract scope.
Engaging with Naval base Stakeholders and Industry Partners to provide practical support Road Safety activity. You will also Collate, prepare, and submit to Navy Command Headquarters, the Devonport Annual Defence Road Safety Award submission in accordance with the relevant Defence Instructions and Notices.
Analysing and interpreting data provided by the industry partners as part of the required Key Performance Indicators and holding them to account where perceived performance does not match the contractual of customer expectations. This may include liaison with management across the naval base to manage expectations on the provision of contracted logistical and supply chain services.
