PCN Appeals Officer needed in North London Paying £19.46 per hr ref 5264185

Full time hours on a temporary basis

Key Responsibilities:

  • Appeals Management: Assess and respond to representations, appeals, and other statutory correspondence contesting parking and traffic-related PCNs.
  • Legislation Compliance: Ensure all appeals are handled within the time limits specified by relevant traffic and parking legislation.
  • Decision Making: Decide whether appeals should be accepted or rejected, and send out appropriate decision letters.
  • Preparation for Appeals: Prepare appeal papers for submission to the Environment and Traffic Appeals service and represent the organisation at Appeal Court Hearings when necessary.
  • Debt Recovery: Administer the Debt Recovery process, including managing witness statements, bailiffs, and County Court hearings.
  • Customer Service: Respond to enquiries, service requests, and complaints from the public, councillors, statutory bodies, and other departments in a professional manner.
  • Performance Management: Develop and monitor effective performance management and quality assurance processes to ensure high standards and continuous improvement.
  • Employer Engagement: Work with employers and other organisations to understand their emerging skills and workforce requirements.
  • Service Enhancement: Continuously improve services based on customer and market insights.
  • Networking: Maintain links with regional and national colleagues to stay updated on new developments.
  • Professional Development: Provide professional leadership and support to all staff and partners.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of parking legislation and experience in processing representations.
  • Relevant qualification in Notice Processing (e.g., WAMITAB Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3).
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • High standard of numeracy, literacy, and grammatical accuracy.
