Crynodeb

This role leads the relationship fundraising function at Barnardo's which includes all our philanthropy, trusts, corporate partnerships and special events supported by a talented team of 30 people. It is an exciting time to join Barnardo's as we have just launched a new strategy and rebrand the charity to more clearly articulate our purpose and how we are driving change for children. With these conditions for success in place there is scope to significantly increase the engagement and support from philanthropists, trusts, foundations and companies.

We are looking for someone who wants to role model personal fundraising success and is an experienced leader of people. Someone who understand the complexity of working in big organisations and who can support their teams to build the relationships they need both internally and externally to drive success. Someone who works in a way that aligns with our behaviours framework and is excited about the opportunity to work in an organisation looking to work in an collaborative and integrated way.

The role leads the overall programme, with the Head of Relationship Fundraising Operations providing oversight across key teams in the function, together they are focused on driving substantial income growth and managing both reputational and financial risk associated with the full programme.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead development of strategies, budgets and plans for relationship fundraising, working in collaboration with Head of Relationship Fundraising Operations, and ensure plans align with collective purpose, organisational strategy and cross organisational objectives.
Lead a function which strives for excellence where colleagues feel they belong and where they are nurtured to grow and thrive.
Lead and inspire a team of fundraisers to new levels of performance and income growth, through role modelling personal fundraising success, working with the Head of Relationship Fundraising Operations to together actively manage the pipeline of opportunities aligned to Barnardo's strategic priorities and ensure excellent relationship management and stewardship. Provide technical leadership, coaching and inspiring team members to deliver.
As a member of FMLT, work in collaboration with senior leaders across Barnardo's, lead with adaptive and humble leadership to ensure delivery of shared objectives and shared purpose and foster a culture of belonging for our colleagues by being committed to our values and behaviours.
Ensure compliance across all teams against all policies and procedures, including but not limited to keeping data safe, health and safety, safeguarding and Fundraising Regulations.

Key activities include budgeting & planning, driving excellence & producing results and leading people & collaboration.

Whilst the full pay band and salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band – this ensures that pay steps are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours.  More details on Barnardo's pay framework can be found upon application.
