So, whoever takes on this role will be enthusiastic and passionate as Hotel Gotham is more than just business. Gotham is a way of life. A vibe. A 5-star-studded, theatrical, vibrant, stylish, dramatic experience – for guests and staff.

Gotham Newcastle is located in the Old Fire Station which was originally built in 1931–1933 based on designs by Cackett, Burns Dick and Mackellar. Baroque Revival in style, a handsome steel framed building with rusticated Portland stone and brick cladding.

As our Guest Relations Manager you will take care of the stage for a sumptuous hotel experience offering opulence and luxury. Give our guests the amazing VIP treatment from when the curtain lifts on entry to the hotel, along with during hotel check in and departure. You must be fully flexible working 5 over 7 days and a variety of daytime or evening shifts.

You’ll join a friendly, talented and dedicated cast who deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have superb personal presentation and terrific team spirit. We're looking for fabulous communication skills, superb organisation and attention to detail along with a strong ethos for team work. Key Accountabilities

  • Pre-Arrival calls completed in depth and ensuring to contact each guest due to arrive where possible.
  • Liaise with the FOH Manager for VIP’s / Celebrities to be looked after directly and in what manner
  • Meet & Greet all VIP’s
  • Communicate any information needed for VIP’s arriving e.g. Riders, tolerances, departure times
  • Assisting with any Front of House duties
  • Always ensure presentation of the hotel is spotless for guests arrival and departure
  • Promote and upsell any public events
  • Upsell of packages, room décor, F&B extras
  • Arrangement of the valet and all other concierge services
  • Guest journey to be a smooth transition throughout each department from concierge onwards
  • All traces to be clearly stated on reservations and alerts added for any special occasions to be mentioned upon check in
  • Lobby host, ensuring all guests feel welcomed and direct any guests for the bar and restaurant
  • Team responsible for the arranging od luggage, valet servicing and any other guest services required
  • Lobby Hosting, for guest departures
  • Follow up emails to departed guests to promote trip advisor reviews and retention of guests. (Pink Cards)
  • Luggage storage, arranging of transportation etc.
