Summary
The successful applicant will be employed as a Safety Maintainer with the Health, Safety & Environmental Protection (HSEP) team at HMS Raleigh.
Their tasks will include, but not limited to:-
Portable appliance inspection and testing,
Conducting weekly fire alarm testing,
Maintenance and servicing of Fire extinguishers in accordance with Defence Fire Safety Procedures and British Standards, including the completion of all associated documentation and administrating records for each technical activity, providing analysis and interpretation in order to identify opportunities to improve efficient and use of resources.
There will be a requirement to work away from the normal place of business to carry our similar tasks at other sites within the Southwest area of operation, or to complete further training to maintain equipment currency which may require overnight stays. The successful applicant will be required to work within a small team and will be required to complete all tasks in accordance with statutory regulations, local orders and procedures.
Full training will be provided but applicants will need to become qualified in the areas detailed above. (Two attempts at gaining the qualifications are permitted).
C&G 2377-22 In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (or equivalent) desirable.
Fire Alarm Systems Maintenance (NICEIC/FIA or equivalent) desirable.
Fire Extinguisher Servicing Training (BAFE/FIA or equivalent) desirable.
Electrical Industry experience desirable
