Salary: Band: 9, £37,937 - £41,510 p.a. (£30,759 - £33,656 for 30 hours) depending on experience

The Service
Part of Adult Social Care the Carers Service provides support to carers who look after someone in an unpaid capacity where that person could not cope without the support. The Service works to ensure that unpaid carers feel recognised for the contribution that they make to our city.
Your New Role
Based at the Carers Centre in Southsea we are looking for an Engagement and Development Officer to support and develop the services that are vital to the health and wellbeing of unpaid carers in Portsmouth. Within this role you will research and evaluate a range of carers break options and use the findings of this to inform the development and delivery of Portsmouth carers Service carers breaks program. You will work with carers and service users to inform and co- produce the carers break strategy and lead on the implementation and evaluate the effectiveness of these changes.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience of working in a health or social care related field including partnership working. You will require a good understanding of the issues affecting carers in Portsmouth as well as the types of services that can be useful for them. You will have the ability to and experience of effecting change to improve services as well as experience of project work and being able to manage your own time. An excellent team player you will have good reporting skills and an ability to evaluate date to inform service development. The ability to travel around the city and gain access to a variety of venues throughout Portsmouth including carers homes.
