Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our newly expanded Academic Registry team as an Assessment and Awards Coordinator. The Assessment and Awards team, play an important role in ensuring the effective organisation and delivery of assessment processes across the University, directly enhancing the student experience whilst aligning with the Aston 2030 strategy. You will assist the implementation of best practice across all areas of assessment, within an inclusive, innovative and forward thinking environment.

As part of a supportive and dynamic team, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of assessment operations to all stakeholders, ensuring that the student journey is supported at all stages. Working closely with the Assessment and Awards Manager, you will assist with providing administrative support for Examination Boards, chasing, entering and checking assessment marks, updating the student records system (SITS) and informing students of results by strict deadlines. You will also assist with the collection of assessment information, examination papers and coursework briefs, reviewing submission deadline schedules and setting up coursework submission links on our VLE (Blackboard). The role also involves providing confidential administrative assistance for the Exceptional Circumstances process, including providing advice to students.

You will need to enjoy working under pressure, in a busy environment, whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy. The ability to efficiently organise your workload, with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines is essential. Excellent communication and IT skills are also required, along with integrity when handling confidential information. Experience of working within a similar administrative related role and/or a role with a strong customer focus is essential.

The salary being offered for this role does not meet the minimum threshold required to sponsor new applicants to the Skilled Worker visa route. For candidates who do not already have a Skilled Worker visa, it is unlikely that Aston University will be able to offer sponsorship under this route.
