Job Title: Business Administration Officer, Durham 20hr/wk

Our company is expanding and we are looking for a committed Business Administration Officer to join our dedicated team

Job Summary: The Business Administration Officer provides essential support across all departments within Cornerstone Supported Housing and Counselling. This role assists with workshop and hub operations, coordinates maintenance tasks, supports staff and volunteers, handles general administrative duties, and addresses customer service inquiries. Additionally, the Officer collaborates with the Office Manager on operations, inventory oversight, technology, and event planning for various projects and events. The role may also adapt to meet the evolving demands of the charity and its client base.

Hours: 20 hours per week – with a view of increasing hours

Salary: £13.48/hour - £14019.20/annum

Key Responsibilities:
1. Workshop and Hub Operations:
o Order Processing: Receive and process orders ensuring accurate recording and tracking.
o Spreadsheet Maintenance: Update and maintain spreadsheets related to workshop and retail operations, assisting the Office Manager in data consolidation and inventory tracking.
o Delivery Coordination: Support the Office Manager in coordinating deliveries and collections for efficient operations.
o Hub Support: Actively assist in the daily operations of hubs and retail environments, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for clients and visitors.
2. Maintenance Coordination:
o Utilities Oversight: Oversee utilities for properties and hubs; assist with utility setups.
o Documentation: Support the leads in maintaining documentation, scheduling maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
o Compliance Management: Ensure that organisational vehicles and hubs remain compliant with all relevant regulations and maintain proper documentation related to their maintenance.

3. Customer Service:
o Query Resolution: Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to orders and services, ensuring excellent customer service and prompt responses.
4. Staff and Volunteer Support:
o Inductions: Assist in conducting staff inductions, ensuring new employees understand organisational policies.
o Records Management: Maintain accurate staff records and communicate policy changes.
o Event Coordination: Help organise staff and volunteer events to foster a positive organisational culture.
5. Administrative Duties:
o Procurement: Coordinate the procurement process for essential items, supporting the Office Manager in inventory consolidation and cost-saving opportunities.
o Financial Support: Assist with overseeing rents and financial transactions, maintaining records of expenditures and supporting invoicing processes.
6. Technology Management:
o Device Oversight: Provide support for technology use, including troubleshooting and maintenance of devices across the organisation.
7. Event Planning and Coordination:
o Project Events: Support the planning and execution of new projects and events, including fundraising campaigns, sales, and community support, in collaboration with the Office Manager.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements:
• Level 3 or above in Business Administration or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in relevant software, including spreadsheet management.
• Prior experience in administrative roles, preferably within a non-profit or social services organisation.
• Familiarity with financial management and budgeting is a plus.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the charity and its client base.
