Pay Rate: Inside IR35 – Competitive Market Rate
Hours per week: 37 hours per week
Contract Length: Initially 6 months, possible extension when in post
Location: London, 5 days a week onsite.
We are looking for a skilled Microsoft 365 Support Engineer to join the ICT Service Delivery team within a large government body. As a Microsoft 365 Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and related products. You will ensure high performance, availability, and security while providing training and mentoring to team members and users. This role also involves working closely with architects and business areas to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Microsoft 365 Administration: Administer, monitor, and manage Microsoft 365 services including Entra ID, Exchange Online/On-Prem, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, and more.
Service Availability: Ensure that services are available, high-performing, and secure.
Fault Resolution: Investigate and resolve service faults, ensuring a smooth user experience.
Preventative Measures: Implement preventative solutions and provide guidance on improvements.
Automation: Utilize PowerShell and other scripting tools to automate tasks such as provisioning, user management, and reporting.
Collaboration Features: Configure collaboration tools, manage permissions, and control access.
Patches & Updates: Administer updates, patches, and feature releases for Microsoft 365 services, ensuring systems remain up-to-date and secure.
Licensing & Costs: Optimize licensing and manage Microsoft subscriptions to reduce costs.
Mentoring & Leadership: Mentor junior team members and guide them on ICT administration tasks.
Innovation: Keep up with new technology trends and implement best practices to improve system performance and reliability.
Business Support: Support the Service Delivery Manager with network strategy and project delivery from procurement through to service implementation.
Key Requirements:
Microsoft 365 Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange, OneDrive for Business, Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform, Microsoft 365 Admin Centre, and Azure Services.
Exchange Expertise: Strong understanding of Exchange Online, on-prem Exchange, and hybrid environments.
Enterprise Mobility & Security: Knowledge of Intune MDM/MAM, Entra ID, identity and threat protection, and Cloud App Security.
Teams Administration: Proficiency in Microsoft Teams governance, administration, and integration of voice and video services.
Active Directory: Experience with Active Directory / Entra ID management.
Licensing Knowledge: Experience in managing Microsoft licensing and Azure subscriptions.
PowerShell Proficiency: Expertise in using PowerShell for automation, as well as creating Power Automate flows.
Implementation Experience: Proven experience in leading the implementation of Microsoft 365 workloads and new features.
Technical Documentation: Ability to produce and maintain detailed technical documentation.
Project Management: Experience in translating business requirements into tangible technical deliverables.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Higher education in an IT-related field is preferred.
Certifications: Certifications such as MS-102 (Microsoft 365) are highly desirable.
Security: Network Security qualifications and experience in securing enterprise environments.
Government IT: Familiarity with legislation related to government and public sector IT is beneficial.
