The Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening service provides men aged sixty-five and above with diagnostic ultrasound examinations to rule out the presence of an AAA across England and Wales.

The Essex programme based at Southend University Hospital, has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, team-oriented individual to join as a Clinical Skills Trainer, providing clinical training and supervision of new and existing Screening Technicians, ensuring they are familiar with scanning techniques and the screening programme procedures and that high standards of work are maintained.

The CST will be an advanced practitioner who holds a postgraduate diploma or certificate in ultrasound or equivalent relevant CASE/SVT accredited qualification.

A minimum of two years post registration experience
have experience of scanning abdominal aortic aneurysms.

The CST is responsible for staff training and regular review of staff for QA.
