Support worker for man in Kingswood (BS15) part time from £13 an hour
A is 35 years old and has autism & learning difficulties. He needs a support worker/PA to assist him to access Elm Tree Farm, where he works in the plant nursery on Thursdays & Fridays. The hours are 9am to 4pm. You would collect A from his home in Kingswood, take him to the farm, and support him during the day to work in the plant nursery. At around 2.30pm, you would accompany him home – staying with him until his mum gets home. Shifts on other days will be available from time to time.
Elm Tree Farm is a working care farm, supporting people with learning difficulties to work in various projects around the farm. It is in Stapleton, BS16 1AA.
A likes to be active and busy during the day. He needs a PA who enjoys taking part in different activities with him. There is no personal care involved.
Ideally you would have experience of working with people with learning difficulties and/or autism, but friendly personality and a willingness to learn is more important.
