Support Worker

E is autistic and ADHD. He does not attend school and has funding for a PA to support with an education that is adaptable to his needs. His main difficulty is his demand avoidance so experience of working with children with this neurotype is essential.The right candidate will be energetic and engaging as will need to accompany E on activities such as trampolining and climbing.Fixed term until November 2024, but potential for this to be extended.Main DutiesTo support child with:· Washing and dressing · Support accessing the community. The child’s legs can sometimes give way when walking. They do not require walking aids but would need support to feel confident when in the community.· Meal preparation and cooking.· Taking t them to activities such as climbing trampolining or educational trips including museums.Essential Criteria· Experience of working with autistic, demand avoidant children.· Experience of working with ADHD· Non-smoker· Must have use of own vehicle. Mileage is included for specific activities.· Candidates must be energetic as the child will need to be accompanied trampolining and other high energy activities.

Desirable criteria:

· Experience in SEN educationPersonal Qualities & Attributes Required· Responsible, reliable, and trustworthy.· Excellent timekeeping.· Some previous PA experience would be advantageous but not essential.· Good communication and social skills.· To respect confidentiality and privacy.Location: St George, Bristol.Hours: Wednesday 10-2.30 & Friday 10-2.30 - Term Time only (39 weeks per year)

Pay: £15.88 Per Hour.

Holiday: 5.6 weeks per year including bank holidays (pro rata for part time).Start Date: ASAP.Additional Information· Appointment will be subject to a DBS check, funded by the employer.· Employer lives with their cat.Please note that this advert has been placed on behalf of an individual employer that we are supporting.
