Applications are welcome in all areas of social psychology, but preference will be given to those within the areas of sexuality and gender. The post is 1.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) and involves contributing to our Psychology provision across our psychology programmes.

The successful applicants will join a supportive collaborative community of academics with a strong commitment to scholarly and professional activity and an excellent track record of delivering a high-quality student experience.

For this role, the successful applicants would be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues in the development and delivery of high-quality teaching, module leadership, and personal and academic supervision. The role will primarily be covering teaching and supervision at undergraduate level but potentially with some postgraduate provision. We are particularly keen to appoint individuals committed to developing ready and able graduates who are active citizens capable of making real contributions to their communities, workplaces, and society. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to high-quality teaching and have evidence of an established track record of research excellence and publications commensurate with their career stage. They should also possess a track record in securing research funding or be able to demonstrate the potential to attract such funding.

The post is based within the interdisciplinary School of Social Sciences, which is part of the College of Health, Science and Society. Staff within psychology primarily contribute to the Psychological Sciences Research Group (PSRG), with some academics also part of the Social Science Research Group (SSRG).

Our staff are professional practitioners and researchers at the forefront of their specialist areas. Our students benefit from their cutting-edge insight, practical experience, and innovative approaches to teaching. We collaborate closely with employers and stakeholders to ensure that our curricula remain current, topical, and relevant to societal needs.

We offer a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programmes accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and other professional bodies. We are focussed on the delivery of research informed and high-quality teaching with a strong emphasis on the application of academic understanding to real-world contexts with impact.
