Salary: £38,659 - £44,458 per annum, basis experience
Location: We have hybrid working in place, with 1-2 days per week, in our office in Canary Wharf.
What exactly will you be doing?
As a Supervision and Assurance Officer at AAT, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of practice amongst our licensed members. Your responsibilities will encompass both desk-based reviews and supervisory tasks. You will conduct thorough assessments of member firms' practice management and anti-money laundering systems, scrutinising annual returns and guiding members on areas for improvement. Your keen eye for detail will be essential in crafting comprehensive reports and presenting recommendations to the Professional Standards Team. Beyond individual reviews, you will contribute to the broader supervision landscape by identifying trends, advising on regulatory matters and collaborating with external authorities. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping AAT's compliance strategies and supporting both internal and external audits. This multifaceted role requires a blend of analytical skills, clear communication and a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks. You will be at the forefront of ensuring AAT's licensed membership adheres to the highest professional standards, contributing significantly to the organisation's reputation and effectiveness in the financial sector.
Major objectives
Your key objectives will include:
• Collecting, analysing and probing actionable information to support decision-making on assurance matters.
• Monitoring member compliance with practice assurance standards, including AML regulations.
• Establishing effective relationships with licensed members and key stakeholders.
• Contributing to efforts to combat money laundering and enhance AAT's status as an AML supervisory authority.
• Identifying trends and risk indicators to feed into the practice management process.

The ideal candidate will possess:
• A strong background in compliance reviews, applicable across any industry.
• Proven working experience with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and practices.
• Demonstrable experience in analysing information and writing detailed, comprehensive reports.
• Excellent time management, report writing and communication skills.
• Experience in effective compliance monitoring and evidence analysis.
• Ability to make quick decisions and present information to stakeholders.
• Aptitude for assimilating verbal and written material, building good working relationships and taking ownership and responsibility.
