Summary
This is an exciting time to join the Army Programmes directorate as we seek to employ an Engineering professional to enhance our existing team, making a significant contribution to Defence and the Nation.
The Engineering Standards branch ensures the safety and assurance for all land equipment and Army boats providing essential direction and coherence of policy, keeping our people safe and legally compliant.
As a branch, we are committed to ensuring our in-service and future equipment is compliant with legislation and regulation and that our people are provided with the professional support required to maintain safe equipment. We will ensure you’re equipped to succeed, with our extensive training and development opportunities.
The Engineering Standards Team supports the Chief Engineer (Army) as the Army Competent Advisor and Inspectorate (ACAI) and Service Advisor for the Army Maintenance of Land Systems and Army Boats (all equipment old and new which doesn’t fly).
We offer the opportunity to discover and provide wide ranging engineering solutions supporting the safe use of Army equipment and the safety of its people. Working independently as well as within the team, this post will give you the opportunity to make and implement change having a direct impact across the Defence enterprise.
Additionally, the successful applicant will develop their understanding of legislation, regulation and Defence policy enabling further exciting employment opportunities in a wide range of Defence organisations and locations.
We will be looking to utilise a reserve list from this campaign. This means that high-calibre candidates will be contacted after the interview process to discuss similar opportunities in Army Programmes without the need to re-interview.
The Army Programmes Directorate is adopting a flexible approach to our workforce to ensure that business area priorities are met whilst maximising opportunities in support of skills development and wider career pathways. This means that successful candidates may be allocated flexibly across the Directorate aligning to priorities.
Remote working within this role is something that can be discussed at interview stages or with your future line manager if you are found successful.
