This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Flood Risk Officer to join our Flooding team.

The Role:

The Flood Risk Officer will deal with a wide range of flooding and drainage investigations across the borough, working with partners from other Risk Management Authorities and working to mititgate flood risk through education and enforcement. You would also support the Principal Flood Risk Manager in the set up and delivery of Capital Works and manage datasets which will inform where Capital works are planned.

Your role will involve:

Site investigations to determine the causes and impacts of local flooding issues raised by the public.
Data collection and processing for use in future schemes.
Educating members of the public on their roles and responsibilities linked to flood risk.
Undertaking enforcement action on landowners to ensure free flow of water along the borough’s watercourses.

A strong communicator
A person who can interpret Policy, procedures and relevant legislation to implement in their day to day work.
A person with a keen interest in investigating different issues
An efficient person who can manage a varied caseload
Good report writing skills
