The Role & Responsibilities: 

The Systems Officer will work within the Digital and Technology Team.

The team are cross-functional who are supporting our staff in finding new and exciting ways to work effectively in Dover’s hybrid digital world of work.

The team are responsible for the council’s use and support of digital technology on a day-to-day basis, as well as running various size projects. Recent projects have included migrating legacy on-premise systems to SaaS solutions and Microsoft Azure, such as our licensing/public protection system. We are currently running a project to migrate and streamline our finance/payment systems and processes.

The Council has many systems in use due to the various important functions the Council provides to residents. The Systems Officer will work with departments across the Council to support them with the use of their systems ensuring they are being used as effectively as possible.

The role will support the culture of continual service improvement and the Councils transformation/digital agenda. Looking for innovative ideas to seek efficiencies and transformation. Experience or an interest in coding/scripting would be beneficial but not essential.
