Summary


Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) are seeking highly-motivated and dynamic individuals to join a growing team of Advanced Critical Care Practitioners(ACCPs). Applicants from professional groups who are eligible to undertake non-medical prescribing under current statutory regulation with Critical Care experience, are welcomed to apply. This is an exciting opportunity to join a bespoke programme of education and clinical simulation, delivered collaboratively with the Royal Brompton and Harefield, that complements the Higher Education and FICM competency requirements.

The Successful applicant will have to commit to participating in and successful completion of an academic and clinical training programme, leading to an MSc in Advanced Critical Care Practice and membership with the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine.

There will be clinical training and learning opportunities with robust assessment of practice overseen by a nominated Consultant educational supervisor. Trainees will have the opportunity to rotate across GSTT, Brompton and Harefield’s Critical Care Units as part of the training programme. The post holder will be paid at band 7 (minimum of 3 years) leading to a B8a on completion of required competencies, MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and achievement of FICM membership.

This post is aimed at developing new ways of sustainable working within critical care. The ACCP Role is a nationally recognised role which offers an exciting opportunity for senior professionals with Critical Care experience to develop their skills further.

With mentor support, the ACCP will integrate into the existing critical care team, to carry out extended roles both within the critical care unit and to patients requiring Critical Care intervention trust wide. ACCPs are highly experienced and educated members of the critical care team who are empowered to make high-level clinical decisions and to work autonomously in recognised situations.
