Summary
Manpower Recruitment are looking for an experienced Scout Cleaner for a College Environment in Oxford City Centre.
The role is working 8am-2pm working 5/7 days, including weekends.
The role is paying £12.49ph and your contracted hours will be 27.5hrs per week.
The Role
The post holder will be responsible for providing general cleaning services on staircases and in other communal areas in one of the newest and largest Colleges within the University of Oxford, and for providing the highest levels of service to all the College's customers - namely, Fellows, conference guests, staff, and students.
Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, the post holder will be responsible for the daily cleaning of bedrooms and communal areas within staircases during the week, always ensuring that these areas are maintained to the required standards of cleanliness and hygiene. They will also be responsible for reporting any maintenance issues within their areas of responsibility in a timely manner.
Room Maintenance
- To be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of bedrooms (en-suite, standard, rooms with wash basins, etc.) to the required standards of hygiene and service provision, as instructed by the Head Housekeeper. This should include a thorough damp dust and hoover at least once a week.
- To be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of Fellows' rooms to the required standards of hygiene and service provision (where applicable).
- To deliver fresh linen to rooms during term time.
- To change linen and remake beds during conferences (as required).
- To work with the Housekeeping Supervisors to undertake the spring-clean and deep cleaning programmes throughout college on a termly basis.
- To keep the paintwork clean, and to wash it when required (especially behind the doors).
- To report any maintenance defect as soon as possible and to ensure it is rectified. Escalate to Supervisor if a defect is not fixed within an acceptable timeframe.
Communal Areas
- To maintain toilets, showers, and bathrooms to the required standard of cleanliness, including the floor area, windows, walls, all fixtures and fittings, etc. To empty bins, and to replace toilet rolls when required.
- To clean kitchen areas daily and to maintain them to the required standard of cleanliness. This will include the floor area, walls, worktops, windows, all fixtures, and fittings including cookers, refrigerators, and microwaves. To empty the bins.
- To clean communal areas and corridors on a regular basis, and to maintain them to the required standard of cleanliness.
- To maintain staircase entrances, glass, and doors to the required standard.
- To remove rubbish, and to recycle items where appropriate. To transport items for recycling to the correct recycling points.
- The empty and clean the food recycling bin daily.
General
- To notify the Housekeeping Supervisors of any problems that may affect the smooth running of the College including safety issues (e.g. use of candles within rooms), welfare issues, and maintenance issues (reporting damage within rooms as it occurs).
- To undertake such other duties, consistent with the purpose of the job, as may be assigned from time to time by the Head Housekeeper, Operations Manager or their nominee.
