WORCESTER COLLEGE, OXFORD

CHEF DE PARTIE

Salary: University grade 4.5 - 4.9, £29,179 - £32,546 per annum

Contract: Full-time, Permanent | Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (including evenings/weekends on rota)
Become part of a close-knit team that takes pride in creating exceptional food experiences for students, staff, and guests.
Worcester College is seeking a passionate and skilled Chef de Partie to join our skilled and dedicated kitchen team. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, diverse cuisine for a wide range of occasions – from daily meals for our students and Fellows to prestigious banquets, conferences, and special events.
In this key role, you’ll be responsible for the preparation and production of food to the highest standards across our kitchens. You’ll have the opportunity to lead sections, mentor junior chefs, and occasionally take full charge as the duty chef, ensuring excellence in food quality, hygiene, and safety.
You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative team in a stunning 26-acre setting in central Oxford, with modern facilities and a long-standing culture of culinary excellence.
Staff are requested to work in a way which reduces their environmental impact and uses resources effectively. This includes commitment to the College Environmental Sustainability Policy, and Procurement and Purchasing Policy

What we’re looking for:
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds 706 1/2, NVQ, or equivalent experience)
• Strong experience working across different kitchen sections, ideally in a busy, high-volume environment
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team
• A flexible, reliable approach and willingness to develop your skills
• Excellent cooking skills across larder, pastry, sauce, and vegetarian dishes
What we offer:
• 38 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
• Membership of the Oxford University Pension Scheme (OSPS)
• Uniform provided
• Generous training and development opportunities
• Discounted bus pass scheme
• Access to beautiful college gardens, grounds, and University sites, including the Botanic Garden and Arboretum

Whether you’re looking to build your career or bring your culinary expertise to a new and inspiring setting, this is a great opportunity to take the next step.
