As a Radiotherapy Cancer Support Navigator you will be responsible for supporting your Manager in ensuring that our service users' needs are met throughout the whole of their Private Radiotherapy pathway. This post requires a person to demonstrate both excellent clerical and organisation abilities as well as kind and compassionate patient facing skills helping to support our patients from diagnosis and beyond. You will be involved in all administrative and liaison processes from the point referral, investigations, planning and treatment phase. You will be a key point of contact for patients and consultants and act as a link to other departments and services, providing a patient focused experience. The Navigator’s responsibilities will be to support and help streamline the pathway and reduce waiting times for treatment by being a key link between the physicians, consultants and patients to coordinate timely care for patients.

· To coordinate timely appointments, investigations and treatment for patients from referral throughout their treatment and to follow private administrative processes

· To be a key contact for patients and to liaise with Consultants, other stakeholders and providers to ensure two-way communication before and during treatment

· To provide guidance, contact and support for patients as they journey through our hospital(s)

· To arrange and ensure private treatment is authorised, scheduled correctly and information is communicated in a timely manner providing an excellent patient experience

· Signposting to other support services
