A sought after opportunity has arisen for a highly specialised Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy Department in Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.

We are seeking an innovative team player in a new AHP Therapy Service that specialises in Neuro-oncology. This Outpatient Therapy Service will primarily focus on the Primary Brain Tumour pathway, but will also have input with Metastatic Brain tumours, Spinal Cord Tumours and Cancer treatment-related neurological impairments. The role will liaise with both Inpatient Therapy and local Community Services and you will work as part of an interdisciplinary team including Neurosurgeons, Specialist Nurses, Physiotherapists and Speech and Language Therapists.

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with highly specialist skills in Neuro-oncology, excellent communication skills and experience of developing services. You will provide comprehensive occupational therapy to patients, working autonomously and without direct supervision, integrating the available evidence-base. You will ensure safe and effective delivery of occupational therapy and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

To provide highly specialist Occupational Therapy within the Neuro-Oncology AHP MDT alongside other AHPs, Neuro Rehab Consultant / Surgeons / Oncologists and Specialist Nurses in a primarily Outpatient setting initially.

To support the REACT (Rehabilitation and Exercise during Addenbrooke’s Cancer Treatment) programme where required, particularly in relation to the outpatient care of Neuro-Oncology patients and development of the Occupational Therapy aspect of the Neuro-Oncology Rehabilitation pathway within the Trust.

To manage the Outpatient Neuro-oncology Occupational Therapy Services and to be aware of alternative services within the Community to ensure wherever possible the individual referred to the service receives the most appropriate form of therapy.

To support and work alongside other members of the Neurosciences and Oncology Occupational Therapy departments and wider multidisciplinary team to ensure delivery of the highest possible standard of service.

To work alongside team leads in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the Occupational Therapy Service on a day-to-day basis.
