Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen in assisting with the delivery of diagnostic respiratory and sleep physiology services at Ipswich Hospital.

You will play a key role in assisting with the running and development ofsleep diagnostic services which will involve attaching and demonstrating to patients how to apply their overnight sleep study device.

You will maintain a good level of technical work in addition to downloading the data for the respiratory physiologist.

You will be responsible for triaging phone messages for CPAP equipment consumables and posting out to patients.

You will be joining a busy, multidisciplinary team including, Physiologists, Consultants, Respiratory Nurse Specialists, Specialist Practitionersand Administrative support.

You will carry out demonstrations and applications of a range of basic respiratory and sleep investigations.

You will be provided with in-house training to complete the ARTP Spirometry certificate, as well as competencies that will allow you to run sleep study set up clinics.



Responsibility for performing basic respiratory and sleep diagnostic investigations, sterilisation of equipment and general administrative duties in the Lung Function Unit.

· Assist in the provision of a comprehensive clinical respiratory investigative service and a comprehensive sleep investigative service to patients of all ages referred from a wide range of specialities from across the region.

· Perform simple clinical respiratory and sleep diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

· Perform sterilisation of equipment, clerical and administrative duties.

· Support senior staff to maintain an efficiently running service.
