Summary

• Responsible for the day to day administration across intermediate with other members of the team.
• Able to populate reports and collate data on agreed templates
• This role will act as point of contact for patients and visitors, this will entail being calm, professional and empathetic whilst dealing with potentially sensitive and stressfully situations
• Ensure that the electronic bed state is kept up to date on Systm1.
• Ensure that all patient records are complete and in order.
• Be responsible for dealing with all telephone queries, referring to the relevant departments as necessary.
• Be responsible for monitoring and opening incoming electronic mail for the ward.
• Provide administrative and word processing support to both the medical and nursing teams, dealing with queries and requests from doctors and nurses as required.
• Ensure patients receives a wristband with the correct patient information on admission.
• Responsible for the production and distribution of welcome packs for new admissions.
• Organise the patients’ discharge as directed, organising transportation to their destination.
• Maintain and monitor ward stationery supplies recording stock when necessary. To undertake photocopying requests as directed by the nursing staff.
• Ensure that ward office equipment is maintained in good order and to liaise with Facilities and IT regarding equipment maintenance.
• Ensure that all correspondence is sent out appropriately.
• Make appointments for patients, arrange transport to other hospitals when needed.
• Collect and file patient notes and x-rays and to track patient notes in and out of the ward.
