Pay Rate: Up to £13.50 per hour PAYE depending on experience

Hours per week: 37 Monday - Friday, 7am to 4.15pm

Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3-4 months

City: Atherstone, Warwickshire

The purpose of the role is to work as a ground’s maintenance operative with the ability to work on a wide range of grounds maintenance tasks, which includes grass cutting, shrub bed maintenance, playground inspections, marking out sports pitches and some low level tree work.

Key Responsibilities:

Be able to carry out a physically demanding role in all weathers.
Have the ability to work with minimum supervision.
Hold a full valid driving licence and be able to maintain and operate a ride on mower.
Be able to understand verbal and written instructions and complete work documents.
Be able to use a range of mechanical and hand tools.
On occasions give instructions to other operatives.
Undertaking such other appropriate duties as may be allocated to the post holder.

Full UK driving licence.



Qualifications:

NVQ Level 2 in horticulture.
GCSE Level 1(Grade D to G) or equivalent.



Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Experience of delivering services to householders / members of the public.
Good Organisational skills, i.e. with methodical approach to workload and the ability to map read.
Knowledge of the requirements of Health and Safety in respect of horticultural duties
To be able to use a ride on mower and a range of power tools i.e. strimmer/hedge trimmer.
Good oral communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate literacy and numeracy i.e. complete worksheets.
To be able to carry out a physically demanding role and able to work outside in all weathers.
To be able to react to customer request(s) and use own initiative whilst out on site.
