It’s an exciting time to work in this field especially at Salford. Nationally, critical care pharmacy is one of the trail blazing specialities piloting the RPS advanced level accreditation. We will support you to develop in order to achieve RPS accreditation.

With the expanded team we are looking to develop our service, increase our research and pharmacy /MDT educational capacity, we are looking for you to help shape this service, develop your own interests and contribute to Trust, regional and national critical care pharmacy projects and programmes as appropriate.

Together the critical care pharmacy team, as part of the multidisciplinary team, work to provide excellent clinical specialised clinical pharmacy service to critical care and theatres.

You will be patient facing active prescriber, ensuring medicines reconciliation is completed, review all aspects of pharmaceutical care and ensure medicines optimisation and safety.

You will drive forward the antimicrobial stewardship plans to optimise patient outcomes.

Within theatres, we are looking to develop collaborative working, and develop a proactive approach to improve medicines safety.

Your key responsibilities are clinical expertise, multidisciplinary leadership, team participation and development and research, aligning with GPICS.

You will work with the critical care and theatre pharmacy team to drive forward our wider clinical pharmacy service for the future. You will support the wider medicines optimisation strategy and clinical governance processes and be a role model for others.
