Summary


of paediatric anaesthesia at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, this is a replacement post following a retirement.

The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children provides secondary and tertiary health services for the region, and is the site of regional and supra-regional services in paediatric oncology, bone marrow transplantation, cardiology, cardiac surgery, paediatric surgery, intensive care, neurology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, respiratory medicine, nephrology, neurosurgery, plastics and burns.

The successful applicant will join a welcoming department of 23 Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetists andprovide anaesthetic care for patients having surgery under a wide range of surgical specialties (excluding cardiology and cardiac surgery which is staffed separately).The Children’s Hospital is part of University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trust, one of the largest foundation trusts in the country with strong links to the University of Bristol and University of the West of England.

Applicants are required to be on the GMC’s Specialist Register (or to achieve it within 6 months of the time of interview by CCT or CESR) and have at least 12 monthssuitable Paediatric anaesthesia subspecialty experience in a recognised centre in UK or abroad.
