A gentleman in the Blyth area is looking for two committed care assistants to help him remain independent within his own home.
The support is to help him manage his medication and meal preparation. The gentleman lives at home on his own. Due to a decline in his cognition, we are looking for committed carers to visit him twice per day to ensure he has taken his medication and had an appropriate meal (breakfast and tea).
This is a position that covers 7 days per week and will be shared between two workers. The gentleman is a quiet individual and somebody willing to spend the time engaging with him and getting him to come out of his shell would be preferred.
The successful applicant will be:
· Committed, kind and considerate
· Proactive as the client needs some encouragement to engage
· Able to act on their own instincts within their remit
· Local to the Blyth area due to time/length of calls
· Honest and trustworthy
Rate of Pay: £13.09 per hour Hours Breakdown: Monday to Friday – 7 hours to be shared by two employees
· AM – 30 minute call at approximately 9/9:30am
· PM – 30 minute call at approximately 4:30/5pm ·
Times can be flexible for the right applicant An enhanced disclosure and barring certificate will be required and full cost will be met by employer.
Two references will be sought prior to commencement of employment – one employment and one character as a minimum
Full training as appropriate will be provided including safe administration of medication, adult safeguarding and access to the local authority learning together platform will also be provided to the successful applicant
