A vibrant and happy one-form entry Primary school based in Ealing, UB5, require a compassionate and dynamic Special Needs teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support for 2 pupils with various SEN within Key Stage 1. The role will start ASAP and continue until the end of the next academic year (July 2025)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
• Morning Sessions: Support a non-verbal girl with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) as she learns through play and self-directed activities. Utilize creative and engaging methods to facilitate her development and communication skills.
• Afternoon Sessions: Provide support to a year 1 boy struggling with cognitive learning difficulties, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and SLCN. This boy is affectionate and tactile but may experience deregulation, crying, and screaming when communication breakdowns occur. Your role is crucial in guiding him through his learning journey, using patience, empathy, and tailored strategies to promote positive behavior and academic progress.
Alongside the staff, you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

To be considered for this role you will need:
• Experience working with children with diverse needs, particularly those with SLCN and SEMH challenges.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles and needs.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
• Patience, empathy, and resilience to navigate challenging behaviors and situations.
• A proactive and creative approach to support children's development and foster a nurturing learning environment.
