Summary

The University of Dundee's Library Services manage open research, scholarly resources, academic support, and study facilities within a Directorate committed to supporting excellent research and teaching activity across all disciplines and stages of research. We demonstrate a strong track record of engaging in collaborative and sector-leading initiatives, aligned with the strategic priorities of the University.


We are recruiting for an exceptional administrator to join us as a Library Research Support Officer within Library Research Services, supporting services underpinning scholarly communication, publishing and open research.


As a core member of Library Research Services, and working with colleagues across Library Services, Schools, and other Directorates your priorities will include:



  • Contributing to the management of the institutional repository (Discovery Research Portal), and any associated services.

  • Ensuring that research findings are made available in line with University, funder, and publisher policies with particular emphasis on open access and REF2029 requirements.

  • Planning and documenting administrative tasks and procedural improvements designed to streamline existing processes.

  • Responding to routine and complex enquiries, from a variety of stakeholders, and liaising directly with service users and internal and external agencies to facilitate the delivery of services.

  • Supporting the delivery of reporting services to University management regarding all aspects of scholarly output.

  • Contributing to the delivery of services associated with the management of, and access to, research data, including completing training as a Safepod Co-ordinator.


Who we're looking for:



  • A specialist administrator with relevant experience within a library or research support environment.

  • knowledgeable about current sector challenges and priorities.

  • ability to prioritise conflicting demands and to demonstrate problem solving skills, working with a high degree of accuracy.

  • excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including presentation skills.

  • efficient and team oriented.
