Summary

The University is now investing signi?cant resource to help create a step-change in our research performance, and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, creative, and research target-driven Research Grants Development Manager to help us deliver our ambitions to support the transformation of our research capacity and capabilities to build our research excellence and grow our research income. They will form part of the RIS Research Grants Development team (RGDT).


The Research Grants Development Manager will proactively develop and support the delivery of the University's ambition to increase the quality and volume of its research and secure the funding to do so. They will work closely with the Assistant Director - Research, the Head of Research Grants Development as well as with other teams operating within RIS to ensure maximum support across Schools. They will also be responsible for the line management of one or more of the Research Grants Development Officers.


The postholder will be a dynamic professional, in?uencer and collaborator, able to build effective relationships internally and externally. They will have excellent organisational and communication skills, relevant research development and project management experience and the ability to work con?dently and assertively with a range of senior stakeholders, using negotiating and in?uencing skills to achieve successful outcomes.
