Summary

We are looking for a Senior Psychologist for a fixed term post or secondment to cover parental leave as the Lead the Crisis Pathway for Psychological input in City and Hackney’s Services across Homerton University Hospital and ELFT’s crisis services and Homerton Psychological Medicine Department. At the heart of the Transformation of Community Services, this is a chance to weave Psychological thinking throughout the pathway for those in crisis in our borough. It also covers supervision of psychological staff in the Home Treatment Team.

The postholder would be linked with physical health staff as well as other ELFT liaison teams in the Trust supervising staff and offering a formulation based approach to service users and staff.

Hackney and the other boroughs has a thriving Psychological Services Department across all areas of community and mental health offering support and CPD opportunities across East London.

This role oversees and carries out work with service users and carers in crisis and is a key member of the leadership team in the crisis pathway. It is a complex but rewarding role working with significant levels of distress across family and care systems.

City and Hackney values candidates who can demonstrate skills to work within and represent our diverse communities within East London. Improving access to psychological interventions and representing our diverse community would be seen as a strength. We also value those with lived experience and a desire to work in true coproduction with our service users.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
