Summary

Salary: Up to £45,000 (Pro Rata'd) per annum, dependent upon experience

Permanent Part Time - 3 days per week

Benefits: Company Car or £1,000 Car Allowance, 30 days' Annual Leave (rising to 35 days' with length of service) + Bank Holidays, Company Pension, Life Assurance x2, Employee Discount Scheme & Medical Cash Plan (all benefits pro-rata'd)

Base Location: Home Based/Flexible. Travel to the Nottingham Head Office will be essential on an ad-hoc basis

We are seeking an experienced and committed Agency Decision Maker to join us on a part-time, permanent basis.

ROLE PURPOSE

  • Making evidence based decisions about whether a person is suitable to be approved as a Foster Parent in line with relevant legislation, policies, procedures and best practice.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date expert knowledge of relevant new legislation, case law, policy guidelines and local/regional policy developments
  • Communicating decisions to Social Work practitioners, Fostering Panels and prospective Fostering Families
  • Awareness of Equality & Diversity and ensuring appropriate representation is addressed when making decisions
  • Producing regular reports for internal and external bodies
  • Undertaking of Panel appraisals alongside the Panel Advisor
  • Produce and present workshops to staff and Foster Parents across the UK
  • Assistance with the preparation of submissions to relevant government and regulatory bodies ie, Ofsted, CSSIW, HCPC, of Quality of Care reports, Pre-Inspection returns and Tender submissions

ABOUT YOU

  • A qualified and registered Social Worker
  • Significant Fostering sector experience, ideally with an IFA
  • Extensive post-qualification experience of childcare social work
  • Extensive and demonstrable knowledge of childcare law and practice
  • Specialist knowledge of the disclosure of protected information about adults
  • Understanding and experience of Quality Assurance & Safeguarding best practice
  • Intermediate IT skills including full Microsoft Suite (especially Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and the ability to produce and analyse reports and spreadsheets
  • Clear and confident communication, with an ability to influence, negotiate and deliver training and presentations
  • A full driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK to fulfil the requirements of the role with some overnight stays anticipated
