Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well-established Fetal / Paediatric Cardiology CNS team, as a Deputy Clinical Nurse Specialist.
We are looking for a highly-motivated nurse to be part of a multi-disciplinary team who will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge in this specialty.
We treat children in various clinical settings such as, outpatients and those admitted to our paediatric in-patients wards across the Lifelong CHD Network. This role will be primarily based at our level 1 surgical/intervention centre however there will be cross site working for both level 1 centres and level 3 centres throughout the network.

The successful candidate will be involved with outpatient clinics, virtual clinics, pre assessment, transition from paediatric to adult care clinics, MDT clinics, as well as assisting with complex discharges and liaising with level 3 network teams and community services.
They will act as a resource of expert advice for other healthcare professionals and must be competent to deliver health promotion and education to parents, their families and others.
The Lifelong CHD Network is a specialist cardiology network hosted by the Evelina London Children's Hospital as part of the Guys and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The specialist network spans a large geography covering areas within London, South East and East of England. The Evelina London Children's Hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital are level 1 surgical/intervention centres within the Lifelong CHD Network.
This role is a development opportunity to learn the role of the clinical nurse specialist in the busy fetal and paediatric cardiology department. As a development role the successful candidate will be allocated a mentor and will be supported to achieve the required competencies for the role.
This role is based within a well established team and involves good communication skills as well as specialist knowledge in cardiology. Advocating for patients and working within a large MDT is very important in this role.
