Summary


As an integral member of the OH Team and someone with high concern for accuracy and ability to interact professionally with Service Users, you will have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of ICH staff, and ultimately patient outcomes.

You will be supporting the delivery of an efficient and effective OH Service by assisting in the preparation and running of nursing and medical clinics, undertaking specific clinical activity, and the retrieval and analysis of clinical results. Additionally, through contributing to governance processes you will help ICH OH deliver a safe service that complies to quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with others in the department to ensure that service user needs are met, clinics run smoothly, and cover work activities of colleagues as required. Assist the OHAs and the OH Practice Nurses in the assessment of service user health and wellbeing needs.
• Prepare for and assist in the running of planned clinics through management of clinical supplies, stock replenishment in clinical rooms and retrieving clinical results.
• Deliver the planned clinical activity of venepuncture, sourcing and reviewing blood test results and escalating.
• Complete laboratory request forms for diagnostic tests required as detailed in departmental policies or as requested by the member of the OH clinical team.
• Ensure that risk assessment is carried out to determine which tests are required in relation to the hazards within the workplace.
• Process blood and investigate results according to protocol and referring any not within normal limits to the OH nursing or medical team.
• Maintain records and check bloods on exposure prone workers.
• Undertake infection control ‘follow ups’ for staff exposed to infectious diseases.
• Perform role activities to support internal audit and governance processes including monitor, order and audit clinical stock, vaccines and equipment.
