Summary

We are seeking a Housing Advisor for a Local Authority Client based in West London.

As a Housing Adviser, you'll assess and decide on homelessness applications, offer advice, conduct housing interviews, manage caseloads, and ensure legal compliance.

About the role:

You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

• Act as a first point of contact for residents seeking housing assistance.
• Assess and determine outcomes of homelessness applications in accordance with relevant legislation and best practices.
• Conduct comprehensive housing options interviews and develop Personal Housing Plans.
• Manage and review a caseload of applications, utilising prevention opportunities where possible.
• Provide advice and assistance to applicants who are homeless or in housing need.

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

• Strong understanding of relevant legislation such as the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Ability to manage a caseload efficiently, conducting thorough assessments, and making informed decisions based on legislation, policies, and individual circumstances.
• Ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement strategies to prevent homelessness, assist clients in securing housing, and navigate challenging situations.

What’s on offer:

Salary: £21+per hour

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday – Friday, 36 hours per week
