Our dynamic and friendly team at Balmoral Gate are currently on the lookout for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with experience in care to join them as a Senior Support Worker on a full-time, permanent basis.

Balmoral Gate is a registered care home, providing support to 10 residents between the ages of 18 to 35 years who have Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Forensic Support needs and Autism. The services is made up of 11 flats which supports individuals over a three to four year period to develop daily living skills, this could be personal care, homecare & household tasks, medication, meal preparation or support with cooking meals, shopping and or managing finances, arranging appointments, or accessing their local community.

Our Senior Support Workers are classed as Front Line Management staff and as such your duties would fall under three specific areas as follows:

Staff Management:
-Coaching and mentoring front line staff while providing appropriate support including regular supervision.
-Identifying the training needs of your team and ensuring that this training is provided.
-Producing the monthly rota for your team, taking into account budgetary requirements and ensuring that all staff meet their contracted hours whilst managing holiday cover and absence.
-Developing the ability of your team to produce accurate and effective support plans.
-Covering on-call shift work as and when needed.

Supported Individuals:
-Plan and facilitate meetings with individuals and important people in their lives in order to collate the appropriate information required to write an effective support plan.
-Effectively match supported individuals to staff members, keeping in mind the identified outcomes and goals to be achieved for said supported individual.

Organisational:
-Liaising with external agencies such as an individual`s family or Social Work Services.
-Ensure that the standards set by the SSSC and Care Inspectorate as well as The Richmond Fellowship Scotland`s own standards are always met.
-Positively represent the values of The Richmond Fellowship Scotland when engaging with all external agencies.

Additional Information
For this fantastic opportunity for internal candidates only, you will need at least 2 years previous experience of supporting individuals within care and already have or be willing to work towards your SVQ Level 3.

Experience of working with individuals who have autism and a knowledge of positive behaviour approaches to support are all desirable but not essential.

Shift patterns will include days, evening and sleepovers, based on the needs of the service.
