Summary

We are currently looking for an SEN Support Assistant to provide support to a Year 3 child with Autism.

The full-time position is to commence ASAP until the end of the academic year, with the potential of a permanent role for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
- Provide calming and nurturing support for a pupil with an EHCP
- Promote good behaviour management strategies
- Support the delivery of lessons to engage and enthuse learners
- Be a positive role model for the children
- Show an interest in the children that you are working with, building mutually respectful relationships
- Be resilient, not easily offended and able to de-escalate sometimes challenging situations

Requirements:
- Ability to relate well to pupils and young adults with additional needs
- Experience of working within a similar setting (care homes, hospitals etc) would be advantageous
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Team Teach qualification desirable
- Experience of working with SEN, PMLD, ASD or SEMH advantageous
- Predominantly experienced in working with Autism and challenging behaviour, but applications are welcome from applicants with a range of SEND experience.
