Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for undertaking various planned and reactive maintenance tasks, as well as occasional new minor installation work. You will work as part of the maintenance team, and must demonstrate a sound knowledge of heating and ventilation systems, commercial plumbing and mechanical systems. You will have the ability to work on their own initiative and improve efficiency, where possible. You will be required to participate in the company’s on call rota. Your varied, but valued, contribution will help us create the hassle free environment for staff and students

The Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer shall:
Work as part of the Maintenance Team
Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to
Use your own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support
Liaise closely with our control hub to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team
Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.
Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and client specifications
Play a key role in planning and completing a range of works on various building systems
Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high profile client and go the extra mile to deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas
Utilise PDAs / mobiles to complete works
Deal with a variety of Clients on a daily basis. You will represent the Company and be courteous and professional in your dealings with them at all times.
Provide regular out of hours cover on a rota system

About You
Essential Criteria

Commercial Plumbing or Heating and Ventilation Qualifications
Demonstrate relevant previous experience in a maintenance role, particularly in relation to mechanical systems and commercial plumbing and heating & ventilation systems
Full Driver’s License
Knowledge of BMS systems
Desirable Criteria

Demonstrate a sound general knowledge of multiple building services
Recognised time served apprenticeship
Demonstrate previous experience in a maintenance role in a university environment
Recognised Health & Safety training
Licensed MEWP operator
Confined space training
