Summary


The Recruitment Co. are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Engineer OR Electrical Shift Engineer to join our clients manufacturing team based in the Port talbot area.

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Up to £46,000 Inclusive of shift allowance

Working hours: Full time working a continental 323 shift pattern: days and nights (average 42 hour week)

Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND Electrical Engineering or equivalent. (desirable) OR…
  • HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. (desirable)
  • Time served mechanical or electrical apprenticeship depending on the role (essential)
  • Counterbalance forklift licence. (advantageous -not essential)


Experience:

Mechanical engineer:-

  • Experience in FMCG
  • Previous experience in a BRC Certified workplace. (desirable)
  • Machining and Welding (desirable)
  • Previous experience reacting to mechanical breakdowns


Electrical engineer:-

  • Experience in FMCG
  • PLC experience (Siemens preferable)
  • Previous experience reacting to electrical breakdowns


Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance
  • Respond to breakdowns quickly and efficiently
  • Diagnose faults and repair equipment
  • Upkeep of reports and records
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.


Person Specification:

  • Self-motivating & organised
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Attention to detail
  • Be able to work both unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Computer literacy
