Job description

We have an opportunity for a Projects Manager/Site Manager, responsible for the planning, management, coordination, and financial control of projects.

The position would be based at our offices in Malvern but there would be a requirement to travel and spend extended periods at customer sites.

This role would be primarily suited to someone who has experience of running multi-faceted projects with a mix of internal equipment and specialist contractors.

A working knowledge of CDM would be advantageous to the role, with demonstrable skills in achieving tight project schedules. Ideally you will come from a background technical discipline and developed the required commercial skills to be an effective PM.

Reporting to the Managing Director Tasks:

Initiate the project - check feasibility and work out budgets, teams, and resources.

Carry out planning - this will include setting goals and objectives, defining roles and producing schedules and timelines for tasks - in accordance with the needs of the client.

Select, lead, and motivate the project team from both internal and external stakeholders.

Manage the project - which includes coordinating the project team to keep them on track and keeping the project on budget.

Carry out monitoring and control activities to track the progress of the project.
Identify and manage risks to ensure delivery is on time.
Ensure that the client is aware of the “milestone” timelines and encourage payment once they have been fulfilled.

Implement any necessary changes throughout the process.

Report regularly to management and the client close the project - including evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learning for the next project.

Required Qualifications:

IOSH
Ability to write risk assessments.
COSHH
Project management certification.
Managing safety.
Ideally SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)

Excellent planning and organisational skills (self & others).
Technically minded with a solution-driven work ethic.
Resilience & excellent communication skills both verbal & written at all levels.
Ability to problem solve and make commercial decisions.
Read & interpret engineering drawings.
Deliver to tight deadlines consistently.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Passionate about engineering.
Ideally HNC / Degree level although experience is essential.
